Hello!

My name is Katie. I’m a proud mum of two, a dedicated paramedic and excited to introduce myself as the Founder, Grower, and Gardner behind Avlon Farm Flowers.

Located in Cudal, just a short 35-minute drive from Orange, we are a micro flower farm that is committed to providing fresh, locally grown and colourful blooms to our community. While we grow and cultivate a diverse range of cut flowers, we are best known for our summer annuals; specifically, Dahlias and Zinnias.

My journey into flower farming began during my maternity leave from the NSW Ambulance Service in 2023. I’ve had a longstanding passion for gardening that began during my childhood on the Sydney Northern Beaches and followed me to my new life here in Central West NSW. While our farm does have some fertile spots where we raise cattle, I was inspired to transform a challenging rocky area adjacent to our house that initially seemed unmanageable. While my children slept, I toiled for a few hours a day implementing no-till beds and experimenting with a range of cut flower varieties. To my great surprise and delight, the beds thrived, and my flower patch flourished well beyond my initial expectations.

While Avlon Farm Flowers still operates a relatively small scale due to my commitments as a wife, mum and paramedic, I’ve now reached a point where I’m able to sell fresh cut flowers, dahlia tubers, plant cuttings, and seeds that I have cultivated and collected right here on the farm. I’m also relishing the opportunity to connect with others and to share my newfound knowledge. There is something truly special about colourful, fresh, locally grown flowers, and I am honoured to contribute to that experience in our Central West region.
